Next Meeting: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1 st
– 10 a.m.
PLACE: Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room

- Jolt of Joy -
What is it that brings a jolt of joy? The following gives some
clues: Could it be that just being nice should never be overrated?
Being nice to others creates tons of pleasure. Demonstrating
strength and gratefulness for daily blessings gives a jolt of joy
for each new day. Laughter is like a medicine and sharing good
clean humor may just be that jolt of joy someone needs to uplift
them from a cloud of sadness. Jump-starting one’s day with a jolt
of joy is like a refreshingly powerful engine to living in
balance, with good character as the battery. So giving oneself a
daily tonic of a jolt of joy brings happy harmony to life. What an
awesome way to begin a new year!!

--- Character Tips ---
"Old age is like a bank account.
You withdraw in later life what you have deposited along the
way."
**RAHMA'S REFLECTIONS**
January’s Character Quality:
…ENTHUSIASM…
"Expressing joy in each task
as I give it my best effort."
According to Ralph Emerson, "Enthusiasm is the mother of
effort, and with it nothing great was ever achieved." Enthusiasm
is the spark that we have toward future goals and our outlook on
life. I personally feel that enthusiasm is what drives a person to
perform well. I have realized that enthusiasm’s sister is passion.
Passion pushes enthusiasm along and even helps me when I have to
take a college class which I would consider unlovable. Enthusiasm
helps me to adjust and find something good out of a not-so-good
situation. Life brings different seasons and we all have to adjust
in order to stay happy. When a tough task is placed before us, and
which we don’t like, it is important to learn how to find
something we like about it in order to spark enthusiasm and be
successful. It is good to remember the words of S. Smiles:
"Enthusiasm …the sustaining power of all great actions."
